The TCP Smart WiFi Plug offers several features for convenient and automated control of connected devices:

Initial Setup and Registration:

  1. Download App: Users must first download the "TCP Smart" App from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. A QR code is provided in the manual for easy scanning and download.
  2. Register Account: Upon opening the app, users need to register an account. This involves selecting "Register" from the opening screen, agreeing to a Privacy Policy, and then entering personal details on the registration page.
  3. Verification Code: A verification code will be sent to the user's email address, which must be entered into the app within 60 seconds to proceed.
  4. Set Password: Users are required to set a password that contains 6-20 characters, including a combination of letters and numbers.
  5. Create Family/Home: The app prompts users to create a "family" or "home" for their devices. This allows for organizing devices into different rooms (e.g., Living Room, Bedroom, Dining Room). Users can also enable location services for location-based app functionalities.

Adding the Smart Plug:

  1. Access Home Page: After registration, the app's home page is ready for adding smart devices.

  5. Connect to WiFi: Users must choose their home WiFi network (ensuring it's 2.4 GHz) and enter the password.
  6. Connection Process: The app will initiate the connection. The plug's light will stop blinking, and the connection wheel in the app will reach 100% upon successful connection.
  7. Rename Device: Once connected, the device can be renamed to reflect the appliance it controls (e.g., "bedroom fan"). This is important for smart home assistant integration.
