Overview

This document provides an assembly and safety manual for the Peaktop 30" Rattan Base Tempered Glass Top Propane Firepit (HF30200AA), manufactured by Teamson Home.

Function Description:

The Teamson Home Peaktop 30" Rattan Base Tempered Glass Top Propane Firepit is an outdoor heating appliance designed to provide warmth and ambiance using propane gas. It features a rattan base and a tempered glass top, creating a stylish and functional centerpiece for outdoor spaces. The unit is intended for outdoor use only, in a ventilated space, and should not be used in any enclosed area. It operates with a propane gas tank (sold separately) and is not designed for burning solid fuels or for cooking. The firepit includes a burner system, a control knob for flame adjustment, and a lid for protection when not in use.

Usage Features:

  • Outdoor Use Only: This firepit is strictly for outdoor use in a well-ventilated area.
  • Ignition Procedure:
    1. Ensure the control knob (J) is in the "OFF" position.
    2. Open the door and slowly open the valve on the propane gas tank by turning the knob counterclockwise.
    3. Close the door.
    4. Push the ignition control knob in fully and rotate approximately 1/4 turn counterclockwise until a click is heard. It may take several attempts to light the burner. Once lit, hold the control knob down for 15 seconds.
    5. If ignition does not occur within a few seconds, release the control knob, rotate to "OFF," wait 5 minutes for gas to clear, and repeat.
  • Flame Adjustment: Turn the control knob clockwise or counterclockwise to lower or raise the flame.
  • Extinguishing Procedure:
    1. Turn the control knob clockwise to the "HIGH" position.
    2. Push and continue turning the control knob to the "OFF" position.
    3. Close the cylinder valve on the propane gas tank if not intending to use it for a long time.
  • Safety Warnings:
    • Do not store or use gasoline or other flammable vapors/liquids near the appliance.
    • An LP-cylinder not connected for use should not be stored near the appliance.
    • Never use in an enclosed space due to carbon monoxide hazard.
    • Keep children and adults alerted to high surface temperatures and away from the appliance to avoid burns or clothing ignition.
    • Do not hang clothing or other flammable materials on or near the appliance.
    • Always remove the protective cover before operating. Do not place the cover over the unit until it is turned off and completely cooled down.
    • Do not add water to the unit.
    • Do not operate if any part has been under water; call a qualified service technician.
    • Do not disconnect any part while the unit is in use.
    • Do not store a spare propane tank on or near the unit.
    • If the heating unit is indoors, detach the propane tank and leave outdoors.
    • Do not operate on a boat or vehicle.
    • Check for leaks after not using the unit for long periods.
    • Keep the gas tank at least 5 feet away from the unit when lit (if external tank).
    • Be aware of high temperatures to avoid burns or injury.
    • Do not use on plastic or artificial wood decks.
    • Do not attempt to move the unit while in use.
    • Never leave the heating unit unattended while in use.
    • Not intended for cooking.
    • Keep flammable items away.
    • Do not sit or rest hands or feet on the heating unit.
    • Never place hands or fingers on the upper portion of the unit while in use.
    • Keep all electrical cords and fuel supply hose away from heated surfaces.
    • Combustible material should not be within 60 inches of the top or 48 inches around the entire unit.
    • Keep the appliance area clear and free from combustible material, gasoline, and other flammable vapors and liquids.
    • If the flame goes out while burning, turn off the gas valve, wait 5 minutes, and repeat the lighting procedure. Hold the control knob for 1 minute once lit.
    • Ensure lava rocks/pumice stones/LavaGlass® are completely dry before use to prevent cracking or popping.
    • Do not operate until all parts are fully assembled.
    • Do not paint or color any part of the heating unit.

Maintenance Features:

  • Pre-Maintenance: Always disconnect the propane gas tank before performing any maintenance.
  • Storage: Store the product indoors during winter months to prevent exposure damage from extreme cold temperatures.
  • Cleanliness: Keep the heating item free and clear from combustible materials. Keep the tank enclosure free and clear from debris.
  • Inspection: Visually inspect the burner for obstructions. Inspect all elements of the heating unit before each use. If there is damage, the burner must be replaced.
  • Cleaning: Use a soft brush to remove mild stains, loose dirt, and soil from the burner and pumice stones/lava rocks/LavaGlass®. Wipe down with a soft cloth.
  • Stain/Discoloration: Harsh weather conditions may cause stubborn stains, discoloration, and possibly rust pitting.
  • Chemical Contact: Permanent damage may occur if powder or solvent comes into contact with painted or plastic components.
  • Sunlight Exposure: Keep the heating unit stored away from direct sunlight.
  • Propane Tank Disconnection: If storing the unit inside, disconnect the propane gas tank from the gas valve.
  • Parts/Accessories: Not using manufacturer-approved or supplied parts/accessories may result in a defective condition and void the warranty.
  • Cover: Always place the lid (if applicable) or protective cover on the heating item when not in use.
  • Professional Service: All installation and repair should be done by a qualified professional. The unit should be inspected annually and cleaned regularly. More frequent cleaning may be required depending on usage.
  • Leakage Test: In case of gas leakage, shut off the gas supply, investigate and rectify the issue. Tighten any leaking fittings, turn on gas supply, and recheck. Substitute gasket if necessary (according to EN 549 Class B2). The manual provides a diagram for leakage test points (1, 2, 3, 4).
  • Airway Cleaning: More frequent cleaning of circulating airways of the appliance is recommended to keep them clean.
