IV:4. THIMBLE AND THIMBLE ADAPTERS
Standard size of thimbles is 0 26 mm and length 60 mm.
Thimble adapters for other thimbles are also available (0 22
mm, length 50 mm; part no: 1000-1486).
IV:5. THIMBLE SUPPORT WITH HOLDER AND THIMBLE
STAND
Six thimble supports are fastened in the holder. (Fig. G) This
combination is used to fix the thimbles (in thimble adapters)
to the magnets in the condensers of the Extraction Unit. One
thimble support is used on the balance when weighing
sample into the thimble.
The thimbles are placed in the thimble stand during drying.
IV:6. THIMBLE HANDLER AND TONGS FOR EXTRACTION
CUPS
To avoid finger prints on thimbles, the thimble handler is
used when moving a thimble from the balance to the thimble
stand or the thimble support. (Fig. H) For the same reason the
pair of tongs is used when placing extraction cups in a drying
oven oradesiccator.
