78 EXHAUST
78.00 GENERAL
DESCRIPTION
The exhaust system includes a muffler. The turbocharger is
driven by exhaust gases.
For inspection intervals of the exhaust system refer to Chapter 05
of this supplement.
TROUBLESHOOTING
For Troubleshooting in case of exhaust malfunction refer to
Chapter 71 of this supplement.
MAINTENANCE PRACTICES
1. General
This maintenance practice provides instructions to inspect
the exhaust system.
2. Inspecting the exhaust system
This is a visual inspection. Check the exhaust manifold and
the exhaust muffler for cracks and leakage (e.g. exhaust
manifold to the cylinder head). Check rubber mountings for
damage, replace as necessary.
