The HT945 Connected Blood Pressure Monitor is a digital blood pressure monitor designed for adults to measure blood pressure and heartbeat rate. It utilizes the oscillometric method for measurement and is intended for indoor, home use. The device can also detect an irregular heartbeat.
Function Description:
The device measures systolic and diastolic blood pressure, as well as pulse rate. It automatically transmits measurement results, with an indicator shown on the display during transmission. If an irregular heartbeat is detected, a specific indicator will appear alongside the measurement results. The device establishes a zero point based on atmospheric pressure before each measurement, then inflates the cuff and measures oscillations in pressure created by the user's heartbeat.

Usage Features:
- Getting Started: Users need to open the Teladoc Health or Livongo app, log in, and follow in-app instructions for setup.
- Battery Installation: Requires 4 AA alkaline batteries. Users must ensure correct polarity during installation.
- Cuff Securing: The cuff is designed to be placed on the left upper arm, with the tube exiting towards the hand. The cuff's edge should be positioned about an inch (2-3 cm) above the elbow, and the tube aligned with the center of the arm. It should be tightened evenly, allowing a finger to fit between the cuff and the arm.
- Taking a Measurement:
- Rest for at least 5 minutes, avoiding exercise and caffeine for 30 minutes prior.
- Sit upright with feet flat on the ground, arm on a table with palm facing up, and the cuff at heart height. Ensure the tube is not kinked or pinched.
- Press the START/STOP button to turn on the device and initiate measurement. Avoid speaking or moving during inflation.
- Results are displayed, and the cuff deflates automatically upon conclusion.
- Remove the cuff after deflation.
- Aborting Measurement: Press and hold the START/STOP button for 5 seconds while the cuff is inflating.
- Irregular Heartbeat Detection: The device displays an irregular heartbeat indicator if pulse irregularities are detected. This is not always a cause for immediate concern, but frequent appearance warrants medical advice.
- Connectivity: The device automatically transmits results. First-time setup in a new location may take 1-5 minutes to locate cellular tower connectivity.
- Contraindications: Not for use by individuals with implanted cardiac devices (pacemakers, defibrillators), pregnant individuals, or infants.
- Troubleshooting: The manual provides a comprehensive troubleshooting guide for common issues like power failure, cuff inflation problems, incorrect cuff placement, varying readings, and error codes. Error codes (Er 1 to Er 24) indicate specific issues such as low battery, movement during measurement, out-of-range readings, no cellular coverage, connection errors, internal errors, provisioning errors, system errors, and measurement errors.
Maintenance Features:
- No User-Serviceable Parts: The system contains delicate electrical components and an intricate air unit that can be damaged by user attempts at repair. Users should contact Member Support for issues not resolved by troubleshooting.
- Storage: Store the device and cuff in a clean, dry place, away from direct sunlight, moisture, extreme heat, cold, humidity, vibration, shaking, or other mechanical stresses.
- Cuff Care: Ensure the rubber tube is not squeezed, stretched, or kinked during use and storage.
- Cleaning: Clean both the device and cuff with a soft, dry cloth. A dampened cloth with natural detergent can be used if necessary. Avoid alcohol, benzene, or other harsh chemicals. Do not wash or splash with water.
- Battery Removal: Remove batteries if the device will not be used for three months or more. Dispose of worn batteries according to local recycling guidelines.
- Professional Servicing: The device must only be serviced and repaired by authorized service personnel. Circuit diagrams, component lists, descriptions, and calibration procedures are available upon request from authorized service personnel.
- Disposal: Dispose of the device, accessories, and batteries according to local waste disposal regulations and guidelines. The device should not be discarded as unsorted waste but sent to separate collection facilities for recovery and recycling.
