HYDRAULICS
8M-60
If the implement relief valve pressure is within range
at high engine rpm and out of range at low engine
rpm, perform charge pump flow test.
If the implement relief valve pressure is not within
range at both high and low engine rpm settings, but
pressure is consistent, the implement relief valve
should be replaced.
If the pressure dropped with the lift lever held in the
lift position, and did not drop when steering wheel
was turned, repair the lift cylinder or lift valve.
If the pressure dropped with the steering wheel
turned against the stop, and did not drop with the lift
lever held in lift position, repair the steering cylinder
or steering valve.
Implement Relief Valve
1. Drain the hydraulic fluid from the tank.
2. Remove the implement relief valve plug and
remove the relief valve cartridge (Figure 8M-6).
Figure 8M-6. Implement Relief Valve
3. Inspect the relief valve and relief valve seat in the
valve body for damage.
4. Replace the relief valve cartridge or valve body as
required.
5. Fill hydraulic tank with proper fluid.
Traction Circuit Pressure Test (Forward)
1. Install wheel restraints on the front wheels.
2. Shut off the engine.
3. Remove the forward pressure hose from the top of
the traction pump (Figure 8M-7).

4. Install a tee fitting in the forward pressure hose fit-
ting.
5. Install a 5000 psi (344 Bar) gauge onto the tee fit-
