Inspect/Service These Items
— Adjust engine valve clearance every 1,000 hours.
—
Replace fuel return lines between fuel injection nozzles every
10,000 hours or sooner, as required.
— Change ELC (red) engine coolant every 8 years or 15,000
hours. Units equipped with ELC have an ELC nameplate on
the expansion tank.
Electrical
• Check controller for alarms.
• Run pretrip test.
• Check battery voltage.
• Inspect battery terminals and electrolyte level.
• Tighten all electrical connections (where applicable) and
inspect all harnesses, wires and terminals for damage or
corrosion. If corrosion is present, clean terminals with
electrical contact cleaner.
• Inspect alternator bearings and brushes.*
•
Inspect electric motor bearings (Model 50).*
* With belt removed, spin bearings by hand. Listen for noise (bearings roll freely).
Refrigeration
• •
Check refrigerant level.
• Check compressor oil level.
• Check discharge and suction pressures.
•
Check compressor efficiency.
— Replace dehydrator and compressor oil filter only when the
refrigeration system is opened for repair.
Structural
• •
Visually inspect unit for fluid leaks.
• • Visually inspect unit for damaged, loose or broken parts
(includes air ducts and bulkheads).
