Disassembling the Q00 Ion Guide
To disassemble the Q00 ion guide, proceed as follows.
1. Carefully remove the leads from the lead pins on the Q00 quadrupole and
lens L0. See Figure 4-11.
2. Remove lens L0 from the rear of the Q00 ion guide cage. (Lens L0 is
secured to the Q00 ion guide cage by plunger balls.) See Figure 4-12 for
the location of the Q00 ion guide components.
3. Remove the Q00 quadrupole from the front of the Q00 ion guide cage.
(The Q00 quadrupole is secured to the Q00 ion guide cage by plunger
balls.)

Note. Prepare a clean work area by covering the area with lint-free paper.
Wear clean gloves when you handle the Q00 ion guide components.
Caution. Be careful not to bend or break the lead pins on the Q00
quadrupole.
