Chapter 5
System Shutdown, Startup, and Reset
Many maintenance procedures for the LTQ system require that the MS
detector be shut down completely. In addition, the LTQ can be placed in
Standby if the system is not to be used for 12 hours or more.
In this chapter procedures are provided to do the following:
• Shut down the system in an emergency
• Place the system in standby condition
• Shut down the system completely
• Start up the system after a complete shutdown
• Reset the MS detector
• Reset the tune and calibration parameters to their default values
• Reset the data system
• Turn off selected MS detector components
