This document outlines the assembly and usage instructions for a teepee tent, which appears to be designed for children based on the safety warnings.
Function Description
The device is a teepee tent, providing a sheltered space for play or relaxation. It features a fabric cover supported by wooden poles and includes a light for illumination.
Important Technical Specifications
The teepee consists of several components:
- Upper/Lower Wood Poles (A): 8 pieces, forming the main structural support.
- Middle Wood Poles (B): 8 pieces, connecting the upper and lower poles.
- Connector Tubes (C): 12 pieces, used to join the wooden poles.
- Cotton Rope (D): 1 piece, essential for securing the teepee structure.
- Teepee Fabric (E): 1 piece, forming the tent's enclosure.
- Light (F): 1 piece, providing illumination inside the teepee.
The light operates on AA batteries. The manual specifies "Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or rechargeable batteries." and "Remove batteries during periods of non-use."
Usage Features
Assembly:
- Pole Assembly: Begin by assembling the poles. Insert the connector tubes (C) into the upper wood poles (A) until they are fully connected. Then, connect the middle wood poles (B) to the connector tubes (C). Repeat this process until all four poles are assembled. The diagram shows connecting two short poles (A) with one connector (C) and then two middle poles (B) with two connectors (C), resulting in a longer pole.
- Fabric Preparation: Slide the fully assembled poles into the pole sleeves located on the teepee fabric (E). Slide each pole to the base of the canvas sleeves.
- Sleeve Adjustment: Make sure all of the poles are inserted to the bottom, and the sleeve should not be wrinkled.
- Stringing the Rope: Start to thread the string (D) through the eyelets on the fabric, leaving 10 inches on the tail.
- Attaching Wood Poles: Attach the wood poles and teepee canvas using the cotton rope. Thread the rope through the eyelets on the canvas and then through the pole, alternating each time (keeping all poles bunched together).
- Tightening the Rope: Tighten the rope between the pole and the fabric like tightening a shoelace. Then, tighten the rope by tying it in a knot. Wrap the poles a lap with the rope and tie the knot at the end. Be sure to tighten the rope.
- Final Placement: Take the tent to the place where you want to place it, then stand it up. Ensure all teepee poles are fully extended and the fabric in each section is tight. The fabric should not sag between poles if all poles are fully extended.
Light Installation:
- Remove the battery cover.
- Slide off in the direction indicated on the box.
- Install 3 AA batteries in the order indicated by the imprints inside of the battery compartment.
- Reinstall the battery cover.
Safety Guidelines:
- Choking Hazard: Small parts can be swallowed and block the airway. Cotton rope can wrap around the neck and pose a strangulation hazard. Do not allow children under the age of 3 to use this product. Use adult supervision at all times.
- Fire Hazard: Keep all flame and heat sources away from teepee fabric.
- Assembly and Usage Guidelines: Adult assembly required. Adult supervision required at all times. Ages 3+.
- Poles: If any poles are snapped or broken, discard them immediately and contact us for replacement.
Maintenance Features
- Batteries: Do not mix used and new batteries. Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or rechargeable batteries. Remove batteries during periods of non-use.
- Poles: If any poles are snapped or broken, discard them immediately and contact customer care for replacement.
