MyTomTom account
To download content and services from TomTom, you need a MyTomTom account. You can create an
account when you start using MyTomTom.
Note: If you have more than one TomTom device, you need a separate account for each device.
Adding items to your navigation device
Every TomTom navigation device comes with many items pre-installed, and you can easily install
more. The range of items that you can add to your navigation device using MyTomTom includes:
Third party POIs
A TomTom POI set consists of a file with the extension .ov2. You can also add an optional .bmp
bitmap file that contains icon images for your POI set. To learn how to add, remove, copy and

Voices
There are three types of navigation voices:
Standard voices
Standard voices come pre-installed on every TomTom device. They are recorded voices and give
you spoken instructions for your route.
Computer voices
Computer voices use text-to-speech technology to read street names, incoming text messages,
weather information, etc. Not all devices support computer voices.
Premium voices
Premium voices have been recorded by celebrities and are available for purchase. It's not possible
to buy premium voices for all devices.

Color schemes
A color scheme consists of a file with the extension .clr. To learn how to add, remove, copy and

Images
You can install .bmp bitmap files to use as start-up images, shut-down images, favorite symbols

Car symbols
A car symbol is file with the extension .bmp. To learn how to add, remove, copy and share car

Warning sounds
A warning sound can either be a .wav file or a .ogg file. To learn how to add, remove, copy and
