LUBRICATION
GREASING BEARINGS AND BUSHINGS
(Fig. 44-55)
The traction unit has grease fittings that must be
lubricated regularly with No. 2 General Purpose
Lithium Base Grease. If machine is operated under
normal conditions, lubricate bearings and bushings
after every 50 hours of operation. Bearings and
bushings must be lubricated daily when operating
conditions are extremely dusty and dirty. Dusty and
dirty operating conditions could cause dirt to get into
the bearings and bushings, resulting in accelerated
wear. Lubricate bearings and bushings immediately
after every washing, regardless of the interval listed.
The traction unit bearings and bushings that must be
lubricated are: Rear cutting unit pivot (Fig. 44), Front
cutting unit pivot (Fig. 45), SideWinder cylinder ends
(2) (Model 03201 only) (Fig. 46), Steering pivot
(Fig. 47), Rear lift arm pivot and lift cylinder (2) (Fig. 48),
Left front lift arm pivot and lift cylinder (2) (Fig. 49), Right
front lift arm pivot and lift cylinder (2) (Fig. 50), Neutral
adjust mechanism (Fig. 51), Mow/Transport slide
(Fig. 52), Belt tension pivot (Fig. 53) Steering cylinder
(Fig. 54).
Note: If desired, an additional grease fitting may be
installed in other end of steering cylinder. Tire must be
removed, fitting installed, greased, fitting removed and
plug installed (Fig. 55).
IMPORTANT: Do not lubricate Sidewinder (model
03201) cross tube, bearing blocks are self lubricated.
