TheGreensmastereFlexmachinesutilizea53VDC(nominal)lithiumionbattery
packtosupplyelectricalpowertotheT oroelectroniccontroller(TEC),anelectric
motor,andamaincontactor.Circuitprotectionforthis53VDC(nominal)system
includes3fusesthatresideinthewireharnessfuseblockandasinglefusein
thebatterypack.
Thebatterypackallowsasinglecomponenttobeattachedtothemachineasthe
electricalpowersupply.Thispackprovidesanominal53V(42Vto64V@100%
stateofcharge),35Ahsupplyandincludesanintegratedbatterymanagement
system.ThebatterymanagementsystemusesCANcommunicationwiththe
TECandbatterycharger.
AT oroElectronicController(TEC)isusedontheeFlexmachinestomanage
themachineelectricalfunctions.Thecontrollerismicroprocessorcontrolledthat
sensestheconditionofvariousswitches(inputs)anddirectselectricalpowerto
controlappropriatemachinefunctions(outputs)basedontheinputs.
TheelectricmotorusedontheeFlexisa48VDC,1,200W,brushless,permanent
magnetDCmotor.Themotorhasitsownintegralcontrollerandhelicalgear
reduction.ThemachineTECprovidesmotordirectionwithcommunicationvia
theCAN-bussystem.Themotorprovidespowerforthetractiondrumandcutting
unitwhenengagedbytheoperator.
Themaincontactorexistsintheelectricalsystemtoconnectthebatterypack
totheelectricmotor.TheTECdetermineswhenthemaincontactorshould
beengaged.
Controlforthecomponentsintheelectricalsystemishandledbyintegral
controllersinthebatterypackandelectricmotoralongwithdirectionfromthe
machineTECviatheCAN-bussystem.
TheInfoCenterdisplayprovidesinformationtotheoperatorduringtheoperation
ofthemachine,provideselectricalsystemdiagnosticassistanceforthe
technicians,andallowsinputsfortheadjustablemachinesettings.Thestatusof
TECinputsandoutputscanbemonitoredwiththeInfoCenterdisplay.
The53VDC(nominal)systemisanisolatedsystemsothatthemachineframeis
notusedforanygroundconnectionsontheeFlexmachine.Asetofconnectors
areincludedonthemachine,whichcanbeusedtodisconnectthemachine
wireharnessfromthebatterypacktopreventunexpectedmachineoperation
whenperformingservice.

BatteryCharging
TheeFlexlithiumionbatterypackrequiresregularchargingthatisprovided
bythelithiumbatterypackcharger(includedwiththemachine).Theoutput
voltageandcurrentofthechargerarecontrolledwithCANcommunicationwith
thebatterymanagementsystem.Thebatterystoragewake-up,maintenance
features,andlong-termstoragedischargefunctionareprovidedbythecharger
toimproveoverallbatterylife.Ensurethatthechargerisconnectedtothebattery
packwheneverthemachineisnotinuse.
StartProcess
WhenthekeyswitchisturnedtotheSTARTposition,themachineelectrical
systemgoesthroughawake-upprocess.Thecontactorinthebatterypack
shouldclickasitisenergizedfollowedbythemaincontactorbeingenergized
(audibleclick).BoththeTECandelectricmotorcontrollerwillbeinitialized.Once
