A.Loosenthebottomcablejamnutthatsecuresthereelclutchcabletothe
shiftmountbracketonthehandle.Slidethecablefromthebracket.
B.Removethecablespringfromthespringanchoronthetractionlever
assembly.Notetheorientationofthecablespringhookonthetraction
leverassemblyforassemblypurposes.
5.Removethereelclutchcablefromthemachine.
InstallingtheReelClutchCable
1.Securethereelclutchcabletothetractionleverassembly(Figure139)as
follows:
A.Installthecablespringtothespringanchoronthetractionleverassembly.
Orientatethecablespringhookendtowardfrontofthemachine.
B.Slidethecablehousingintotheshiftmountbracketslot.Ensurethatajam
nut,atwasher,andlockwasherareonbothsidesofthebracket.Adjust
thejamnutssothatequalamountofcablethreadsarevisibleaboveand
belowthejamnuts.Leavethejamnutssnuguntilnalcableadjustment.
2.Routethereelclutchcabletothetransmissionandinstallthecable(Figure
138)asfollows:
A.Securethecableeyelettothetransmissionreelclutchleverwiththe
retainingring.
B.Positionthereelclutchcabletothecastingslotofthetransmissionwitha
jamnut,atwasher,andlockwasheroneachsideoftheslot.
C.Adjustandtightenthejamnutstocompressthecablespringtoalength
from70.6to72.4mm(2.780to2.850inches).
D.Removetherubberplugatfrontofthetransmissiontoviewreelclutch.
Ensurethatthereelclutchteethdisengagewhentheclutchisreleased.
