RemovingtheBedbarAdjuster
1.Removethelocknut(item4inFigure165),compressionspring,andwasher
fromthebedbaradjusterscrew.
2.Removethebedbar;refertoRemovingtheBedbarAdjuster(page7–17).
Note:Thebedbaradjustershaft(item11inFigure165)hasleft-handthreads.
3.Unscrewthebedbaradjustershaftfromthebedbaradjusterscrew.
4.Removetheretainingring(item8inFigure165)andwavewasherfromthe
adjustershaftandremovetheadjustershaftfromthecuttingunitframe.
5.Inspecttheangebushings(item10inFigure165)inthecuttingunitside
plateandremoveifnecessary.
6.Ifthedetentisdamaged,removeitfromthecuttingunitsideplateby
removingthebolt.
InstallingtheBedbarAdjuster
1.Ifthedetent(item1inFigure165)wasremoved,securethedetenttothe
cuttingunitsideplatewiththebolt.
2.Iftheangebushings(item10inFigure165)wereremoved,alignthekey
onthebushingtotheslotintheframeandinstallthebushingsinthecutting
unitsideplates.
3.Slidethebedbaradjustershaft(item11inFigure165)intotheange
bushingsinthecuttingunitsideplate.Securetheadjustershaftwiththe
wavewasherandretainingring.
Note:Thebedbaradjustershafthasleft-handthreads.
4.Applyanti-seizelubricanttothethreadsofthebedbaradjusterscrew(item7
inFigure165)thattsintotheadjustershaft.Threadthebedbaradjuster
screwintotheadjustershaft.
5.Installthebedbar;refertoInstallingtheBedbar(page7–11).
6.Installthewasher(item6inFigure165),compressionspring,andlocknut
ontotheadjusterscrew.Tightenthelocknutontheeachbedbaradjuster
assemblyuntilthecompressionspringisfullycompressed,thenloosenthe
locknut1/2turn.
7.Adjustthecuttingunit;refertotheCuttingUnitOperator'sManual.
