10.Loosenandremovedrivepulley(item4inFigure189)fromthecuttingunit
shaft.
11.Remove2shoulderbolts(item5inFigure189)thatsecurethegroomer
rightdriveplateassemblytothecuttingunitframe.Removetherightdrive
plateassemblyfromgroomingshaftandcuttingunit.Locateandretrieve
groomershim.
12.Carefullypullthegroomingreelfromtheleftsupportplateassembly(item
14inFigure189).
13.Inspectseals,bushings,andbearingsinrightdriveplate,leftsupportplate,
andgroomerarmsforwearordamage.Replacecomponentsasnecessary.
InstallingtheGroomingReel(ForwardRotatingGroomerDrive)
1.Applyalightcoatingofgreasetoendsofgroomingshaftandalsotoseallips
inrightdriveandleftsupportplates.Ensurethatallbearings,bushings,and
sealsareproperlyinstalled.
2.EnsurethattheO-ring(item25inFigure189)isinstalledongroomingreel
shaft.ApplylightcoatingofgreasetoO-ring.
3.Carefullyplacegroomingreelassemblyintotheleftsupportplatetakingcare
tonotdamagesealinsupportplateorO-ringonshaft.
4.ApplylightcoatingofgreasetoO-ringonrightdriveplateassemblypivothub
andpilotboreofcuttingunitsideplate.
5.Positiongroomershim(item8inFigure189)torightdriveplateassembly.
6.Carefullyplacerightdriveplateassemblyontogroomershafttakingcareto
notdamagesealsindriveplate.Positiondriveplatetothecuttingunitframe
andsecurewith2shoulderbolts(item5inFigure189).Ensurethattheright
driveplaterotatesfreelyafterinstallation.
7.Applylightcoatingofgreasetohubondrivenpulley(item19inFigure189)
takingcaretonotgetgreaseonbeltsurfaceofpulley.Slidedrivenpulleyonto
thegroomingreelshafttakingcaretonotdamagesealinrightdriveplate.
Note:Topreventgroomingreelshaftfromturningwheninstallingdriven
pulley,usewrenchonshaftatstoholdshaft.
8.Securedrivenpulleytogroomingreelshaftwithlocknut(item1inFigure
189);torquelocknutto24to28N∙m(17to21ft-lb).

a1/2inchsocketonhexofreeldriveshaftthatisusedforbacklappingthe
cuttingunit.
9.Securedrivepulley(item4inFigure189)tocuttingunitshaft;torquepulley
to135N∙m(100ft-lb).
10.Insertfrontrollerintoleftgroomerarmassembly.
11.Ensurethatthebushing(item11inFigure189)isinstalledindriveplate
assembly.
12.Applyanti-seizelubricanttothreadsofrightgroomerarmliftrod.
13.Positionrightgroomerarmassemblytofrontroller,rightdriveplateassembly,
andcuttingunitframe.Securegroomerarmtocuttingunitwithplowbolt
(item22inFigure189),HOCwasher,andHOCnut.
