Note:Earlyuniversalgroomersused2compressionspringsonnon-adjustable
heightadjustmentrods.Retrottingtheassembliesoneachsideofthecutting
unitwithnewcompressionsprings,heightadjustmentrods,andaddingange
nutstoenablespringadjustmentisrecommended(Figure224).
DisassemblingtheHeightAdjusterAssembly
1.Parkthemachineonacleanandlevelsurface,lowerthecuttingunits
completelytotheground,settheparkingbrake,andremovethekeyfromthe
keyswitch.
2.Removethecotterpinsandclevispinsthatsecuretheheightadjustment
rodstothegroomergearboxandidlerarm.Discardthecotterpins.
3.Loosenthe2heightadjustmentbolts(item15inFigure224)and2locknuts.
4.Removetheangenut(item4inFigure224)andcarriageboltthatsecure
theheightadjusterassemblytothecuttingunitsideplate,andremovethe
frontrollerandheightadjusterfromthecuttingunit.
5.Disassembletheheightadjusterassembly(Figure224).
6.Cleanallthecomponentsandinspectforwearordamage.Replaceallthe
componentsthatarewornordamaged.
AssemblingtheHeightAdjusterAssembly
1.Applyanti-seizelubricanttotheupperthreadsoftheadjustmentrodand
lowerthreadsoftheheightadjusters.Assembletheheightadjusterassembly
(Figure224).
2.Ifboththeheightadjustersareremoved,t1heightadjusterassemblytothe
cuttingunitsideplateandsecureitwiththecarriageboltandangenut.Do
