IMPORTANT
Whenremovingtheexcoupler(item15inFigure27)fromthe
reelinputshaft,donotdamagetheoutersurfaceofthecoupler
(e.g.,graspingwithpliersormountinginavise)ascouplermaybe
damagedandfailprematurely.
5.Supporttheexcouplertopreventitfrombeingdamagedduringthespring
pinremoval.Pushthespringpinfromtheexcouplerandreelinputshaft.
Slidethecouplerfromtheshaftanddiscardthespringpin.
6.Removetheretainingring(item14inFigure27)fromtheshaft.Thenremove
theatwasher,wavespring,andockedbearingshieldfromtheshaft.For
assemblypurposes,notetheorientationoftheockedbearingshield.
7.Pressthebearingsandbearingspacerfromtheshaftifnecessary.Discard
thebearingsifremoved.
8.Cleanallthebearinghousingcomponents.
AssemblingtheReelDriveBearingHousing
1.Ifthebearingswereremovedfromthereelinputshaft,installnewbearings
ontotheshaft.Pressrstbearingfullyontotheshaft.Positionaspaceron
theshaftandthenpresssecondbearingontotheshaft.
2.Installtheockedbearingshield,wavespring,andatwasherontothereel
inputshaft.Securethecomponentstotheshaftwiththeretainingring(item
14inFigure27).Ifnecessary,drivetheretainingringontotheinputshaft
withatubulartoolandmallet.Ensurethattheretainingringisfullyseated
intotheshaftgrooveafterinstallation.
3.Placethewavewasher(item7inFigure27)intothebearinghousing.
4.FillthecavitybetweenthebearingswithhightemperatureMobilXHP-222
grease(orequivalent).
5.Installthereelinputshaftassemblyintothebearinghousingandsecurethe
shaftassemblywiththeretainingring(item10inFigure27).
IMPORTANT
Wheninstallingtheexcoupler(item15inFigure27)ontothe
reelinputshaft,donotdamagetheoutersurfaceofthecoupler
(e.g.,graspingwithpliersormountinginavise)ascouplermaybe
damagedandfailprematurely.
6.Slidetheexcouplerontothereelinputshaft,supportthecouplertoprevent
itfrombeingdamagedduringthespringpininstallation.Installnewspring
pinintothecouplertosecureittotheshaft.
7.Installthereeldrivebearinghousingtothereeldrivehousing;refertoReel
DriveAssembly(page4–16).
8.Connectthebatterypack;refertoConnectingtheLithiumBatteryPack
(page4–3).
