Theballbearingwillbedamagedduringthisprocedure.Removethe
ballbearingfromthereelclutchshaftanddiscardthebearingafter
theshafthasbeenremovedfromthehousing;refertoTransmission
ReelDriveSystem(page4–43)forbearingremovalinformation.
4.Cleanandinspectthebearingboreinthehousing.Ifdamageissevereinthe
housing,replacethetransmissionhousing.
5.Usea1/4inch-20UNCtaptoinstallthreadsinthe2holesdrilledinthe
transmissionhousing.
6.Installthe21/4inch-20boltswithatwashersintothetappedholesinthe
transmissionhousing.Theboltsnotlongerthan3/8inchinlengthshouldbe
used.Afteryouinstallthebolts,ensurethattheendsoftheboltsdonot
extendintotheballbearingboreinthehousing.
7.Servicethereelclutchshaftassemblyasnecessary;refertoTransmission
ReelDriveSystem(page4–43).Ensurethatthenewballbearingisinstalled
onthereelclutchshaft.
8.Installthereelclutchshaftassemblyintothetransmissionhousingand
assemblethetransmission;refertoTransmissionReelDriveSystem(page
4–43).
