5.Ifnecessary,removethe4washer-headscrews(item16inFigure53)that
securethemotoradaptertothetransmissionhousing,andremovethe
adapterfromthehousing.
6.Asnecessary,removethecomponentsfromthedrivenpulley(item12in
Figure53):
A.Removetheretainingring(item9inFigure53),atwasher,wavespring,
andockedbearingshieldfromthedrivenpulley.Forassemblypurposes,
notetheorientationoftheockedbearingshield.
B.Presstheballbearings(items15and5inFigure53)fromthepulley.
Discardthebearingsthatwereremoved.
C.Removetheretainingring(item4inFigure53)andslidethesplined
couplerfromthepulley.Cleanthesplinedcouplerandinspectthecoupler
forwearordamage.
D.Inspectthedrivespline(item13inFigure53)thatisattachedtothe
drivenpulley.Thedrivesplineshouldbefreeofbending,distortion,or
otherdamage.
7.Ifthedrivesplineneedstoberemovedfromthedrivenpulley,usethe
followingprocedure:

C.Slidethesplinedcouplerontothedrivesplineanduseasplineinserttool
(refertoSplineInsertT ool(page4–9))toremovethedrivesplinefrom
thedrivenpulley.

lockonthethreads)orhaveLoctite#242(orequivalent)appliedtothe
threadsbeforeinstallation.
C.Slidethesplinedcoupler(item14inFigure53)ontothedrivesplineand
useasplineinserttool(refertoSplineInsertTool(page4–9))tosecure
thedrivesplineintothedrivenpulley.
