TheTEC-2401isnotreceivingCAN-busdatafromthemotor.

CircuitDescription

Thetwisted-pairCAN-bussystemestablishesdatapathwaysbetweenthemachinecomponents.Thesignalnamesforthese2

wiresareCAN+(high)andCAN–(low).TheCANbuscircuitprovidestheTEC-2401controllerwithcommunicationto

thebatterypackcontroller,motorcontroller,andInfoCenteruserinterfacedisplay.Thetwisted-pairCANbusfortheeFlex

has2terminators(120ohmseach)..

Note:CommunicationdependsontheCANbus,notontheInfoCenter.Whilethemachinecanfunctionwithoutan

InfoCenter,donotoperatethemachineinthiscondition.

ConditionsforSettingtheFault

TheTEC-2401hasnotreceivedCAN-busdataformorethan2.5seconds.

Note:IftheCANisdownbetweentheInfoCenterandtheTEC,theInfoCenterdoesnotreceivethefaultmessageto

display.IftheCANfailureisbetweenthebatterypackandTEC,thebatterypackshutsdown.TheonlyCANfailurethat

resultsinafaultonthedisplayiswiththemotor.TheotherCANfailuresappearinthefaultlogasanhistoricalevent,

viewableviaToroDIAG.

RecommendedServiceActions

Step1:Verifythatthefaultrepeats.

1.CleartheInfoCenterfaultlog.RefertoClearingtheInfoCenterFaultLog(page19).

2.Disconnectthebatterypackfor30seconds.RefertoDisconnectingtheBatteryPack(page17).

3.Connectthebatterypack.RefertoConnectingtheBatteryPack(page17).

4.Startandoperatethemachine.RefertotheeFlexOperator’sManual.

Thefaultdidnotrepeat.GotoReturningtheEquipmenttoService(page19)andfollowthe

stepslisted.

Note:Ifthefaultdoesnotrepeat,afalsedetecteventmayhaveoccurred.

Fail

Thefaultrepeated.GotoStep2.

Step2:Checkthechargelevelofthebattery.

ChecktheInfoCenterLCDscreentoensurethatthechargelevelisadequate.Ifthebatteryindicatordoesnotshowatleast1

fullblock,connectthebatterychargertothebatterypackandchargethebatterypacktoatleast40%capacity.

Step3:Remove2accesscoverstoaidtroubleshooting.

Performingthesestepsprovidesaccesstoconnectorsonthewireharnesses.

1.Removetheconsolecover.RefertoConsoleCover(page19).

2.Removethepowercentercover.RefertoPowerCenterCover(page20).

Step4:Useamultimetertotestthe2terminatorsandassociatedwiring.

1.Disconnectthebatterypack.RefertoDisconnectingtheBatteryPack(page17).
