InstallingtheSteeringControlValve
1.Ifthehydraulicttingswereremovedfromthesteeringcontrolvalve,lubricate
newO-ringswithcleanhydraulicuid,positiontheO-ringstothettings,and
installthettingstothesteeringcontrolvalve;refertoInstallingtheHydraulic
Fittings(page5–10).
2.InstallthesteeringcontrolvalveontothesteeringcolumnbyusingtheFigure
88asaguide.
3.Removethecapsandplugsthatwereinstalledtothehydrauliclinesand
ttingsduringtheremovalprocess.
4.LubricatenewO-ringsandusethelabelsthatyouattachedduringvalve
removaltoconnectthehydrauliclinestothettingsonthesteeringcontrol
valve.Tightentheconnections;refertoInstallingtheHydraulicHosesand
Tubes(page5–8).
5.Afteryoucompletetheassembly,ensurethatthehydraulichosesand
ttingsdonotcontactanythingtothesteeringcolumn.Also,checkforany
hydraulic-uidleaks.
6.Checkthehydraulic-uidlevelinthehydraulictankandaddcorrectquantity
ofuidifnecessary;refertotheOperator’sManual.
7.Operatethemachinefunctionsslowlyuntilairisoutofsystem;referto
ChargingtheHydraulicSystem(page5–72).
8.Installtheremovedsteeringcolumncomponents;refertoInstallingthe
SteeringColumn(page7–9).
9.Starttheengine,checkforhydraulic-uidleaks,repairanyleaksas
necessary,andllthehydraulictankwiththecorrectquantityofnewhydraulic
uidbeforereturningthemachinetoservice.
