TestingthePTOSwitch(continued)
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthecuttingdeck,settheparking
brake,andshutofftheengine.
2.Disconnectthebatterynegative(-)cableatthebattery.
3.RemovethesteeringcolumncoversandgetaccesstorearofthePTO
switch;refertoDisassemblingtheBodyAssembly(page7–6).
4.DisconnectthewireharnessconnectorfromthePTOswitchandremovethe
PTOswitchfromthesteeringcolumncover.
5.ThePTOswitchterminalsareidentiedinFigure110andthecircuitryof
thePTOswitchisshownintheCircuitLogicT able(page6–13).Withthe
useofamultimeter(ohmssetting),testtheswitchfunctionstodetermineif
thecontinuityexistsbetweenthevariousterminalsforeachswitchposition.
Checkthecontinuitybetweentheswitchterminals.

6.ReplacethePTOswitchifthetestingdeterminesitisdamaged.

8.Afteryoucompletethetesting,connectthemachinewireharnessconnector
tothePTOswitch.
9.Installthesteeringcolumncovertothesteeringcolumn;refertoAssembling
theBodyAssembly(page7–7).
10.Connectthebatterynegative(-)cabletothebattery.
