1.DisengagethePTO,movethemotioncontrollevers
totheneutrallockedpositionandsettheparking
brake.
2.Stoptheengine,removethekey,andwaitforall
movingpartstostopbeforeleavingtheoperating
position.
Important:Donotsubstituteautomotiveoil
lterorseverehydraulicsystemdamagemay
result.
3.Locatethetwolters,oneundereachtransmission
andremovethelterguards.
4.Carefullycleantheareaaroundthelters.Itis
importantthatnodirtorcontaminationenterthe
hydraulicsystem(Figure50).
5.Unscrewtheltersandallowtheoiltodrainfrom
thedrivesystem(Figure50).
Important:Beforereinstallingnewlters,
applyathincoatofoilonthesurfaceofthe
ltersrubberseal.
6.Installthenewltersclockwiseuntilrubberseal
contactsthelteradapterandthentightenthelter
anadditional3/4to1fullturn.
7.Removetheventplugoneachtransmissionandll
throughthehydraulictank,whenoilcomesoutof
ventreinstallplug.Torquetheplugsto180in-lb
(244N⋅m).
8.Addoiluntilitreachesthecoldlineonthehydraulic
tank(Figure49).
9.Raisetherearofmachineupjustenoughtoallow
thedrivewheelstoturnfreelyandsupportitwith
jackstands.
10.Starttheengineandmovethethrottlecontrolahead
tothe1/2throttleposition.Disengagetheparking
brake.
11.Withthebypassvalveopenandtheenginerunning,
slowlymovethedirectionalcontrolinbothforward
andreverse5or6times.
12.Withthebypassvalveclosedandtheengine
running,slowlymovethedirectionalcontrolinboth
forwardandreversedirections5to6times.Stop
theengineandchecktheoillevel,andaddoilas
requiredtothehotline.
13.Repeatitems11and12asnecessaryuntilalltheair
iscompletelypurgedfromthesystem.Whenthe
transaxleoperatesatnormalnoiselevelsandmoves
smoothlyforwardandreverseatnormalspeeds,then
thetransaxleispurged.
Important:Donotchangehydraulicsystem
oil(exceptforwhatcanbedrainedwhen
changinglter),unlessitisfelttheoilhasbeen
contaminatedorbeenextremelyhot.Changing
theoilunnecessarilycoulddamagethehydraulic
systembyintroducingcontaminatesintothe
system.
