CasterForkandBearingReplacement
CasterForkandBearingRemoval
1.ParkthemachineonalevelsurfaceanddisengagethePTO.Stopthe
engine,waitforallmovingpartstostopandremovethekey.Engagethe
parkingbrake.
2.Raiseandsupporttheunitsothatthefrontwheelsareofftheground.
3.Removethecastercap.
4.Supporttheundersideofthecasterwheelandremovethefastenerscrew
securingthecasterbearingassembly.
5.Removethecasterforkfromthefrontaxle.Inspectthecasterforkshaft
forwearordamage.
6.Removetheupperandlowerbearingsfromtheaxleandinspecttheinsideof
theaxlebearingareafordamageandexcessivewear.
CasterForkandBearingInstallation
1.Cleanthesurfaceinsidetheaxlebearingarea.
2.Installanewlowerbearingfromthebottomsideintotheaxle,makingsureit
isfullyseated.Pressevenlyontheinnerandouterracetoseatthebearing.
3.Installspringwasheronthetopsideoftheaxle,followedbyanewupper
bearing,ensuringthatthebearingisproperlyseated(theupperbearing
shouldbeoatinginthehousinganddoesnotneedtobepressedinplace).
Note:Thebearingsaresealedanddonotrequiregrease/lubrication.
4.Installtheatwasherontopofthebearing.
5.Installthefastenerscrewandtightentothecastershaft.Thespringwashers
willprovidetheappropriatepreloadtothebearings.
6.Lowertheunitandverifyproperfunction.
Note:Thecasterwheelisnotserviceableandshouldbereplacedasa
completeassembly.
