Pinion Shaft Teardown
12. Remove the cross shaft from the open end cap (Fig.
943).
15. Remove the washer from the pinion shaft (Fig. 945).

16. Using a gear puller, remove the cross shaft gear
from the pinion shaft (Fig. 946).
13. Secure the pinion shaft in a vise.
14. Remove the lock nut from the pinion shaft (Fig. 944).
