InspectingtheBlades
ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily
Inspectthegrooming-reelbladesfrequentlyfor
damageandwear.Straightenbentbladeswitha
pliers.Replacewornblades,andtorquethelocknuts
to42to49N∙m(31to36ft-lb).Wheninspectingthe
blades,checktoseethatnutsontherightandleft
blade-shaftendsaretight.
Note:Ifyouareusingspringsteelblades,when1
sideofthebladesbecomeworn,removethegrooming
reel,rotateit180degrees,andinstallitsothatthe
unwornsideisfacingthedirectionofrotation.
Note:Becausethegroomermayintroducemore
debris(i.e.,dirtandsand)intothecuttingunitthan
whatthereelwouldnormallybeexposedto,check
thebedknifeandmainreelforwearmorefrequently.
Thisisespeciallyimportantinsandysoiland/orwhen
thegroomerissetforpenetration.
