5.Formachineswithbacklap,recordthecurrentreelspeedsettingthensetthe
reelspeedtothehighestspeed(fullyopen).Thebacklapknobonthemower
manifoldmustbeintheMOWposition.
CAUTION
Donotengagethecuttingunitswhenperformingthistest.
6.Startengine.Movethrottletofullspeed(2850±50RPM).
7.Makesurehydraulicuidisatnormaloperatingtemperaturebyoperatingthe
machineforapproximately10minutes.
8.Verifyandrecordenginespeedwithaphototach.
9.RecordtesterpressureandowreadingwithpumpAtNoLoad.Unrestricted
pumpoutputshouldbeapproximately25.7LPM(6.8GPM).
CAUTION
Donotclosetestervalvefullywhenperformingthistest.Inthis
test,thehydraulictesterispositionedbeforethecircuitreliefvalve.
Pumpdamagecanoccuriftheuidowisfullyrestrictedbyfully
closingthetesterowcontrolvalve.
10.VerifypumpowUnderLoadasfollows:
A.Watchowmeterpressuregaugecarefullywhileslowlyclosingtheow
controlvalveuntil12411kPa(1800PSI)isobtainedongauge.
B.Recordtesterpressureandowreadingsunderload.
11.Openowcontrolvalvefully,movethrottletolowspeedandturntheengine
OFF.
12.Theunderloadtestowreading(step9)shouldnotdropmorethan15%
whencomparedtothepumpatnoloadtestowreading(step10).A
differenceinowofmorethan15%,ortheinabilitytoachievespecied
pressuremayindicate:
A.Arestrictioninthepumpintakeline
B.Thegearpump(P2)iswornandshouldberepairedorreplaced
13.Whentestingiscomplete,removetesterandconnecthosetopumptting.
14.Formachineswithbacklap,returnreelspeedadjustmentknobtooriginal
setting.
15.Checkuidlevelinhydraulictankandadjustasnecessary;refertotraction
unitOperator’sManual.
