7.Startengineandrunatlowidlespeed.Checkforandcorrectanyhydraulic
leaksbeforeproceeding.
CAUTION
Useextremecautionwhenperformingthistest.Thetractionunit
wheelswillberotatingduringthetest.
IMPORTANT
Whileengagingthetractioncircuit,monitortheindicatoronthehigh
owhydrauliclter.Iftheindicatorshouldshowred,eitherreduce
pressureonthetractionpedalorreduceenginespeedtodecrease
hydraulicowthroughthelter.
8.Withenginerunningatlowidlespeed,slowlymovethetractionpedaltothe
forwarddirectiontoallowowthroughthetractioncircuitandhighowlter.
Keeptractioncircuitengagedforve(5)minuteswhilegraduallyincreasing
bothforwardpressureontractionpedalandenginespeed.Monitorlter
indicatortomakesurethatgreencolorisshowingduringoperation.
IMPORTANT
Ifusingahydrauliclterthatisnotbidirectional,donotpressthe
tractionpedalinthereversedirection.Ifowisreversedwhenusing
alterthatisnotbidirectional,debrisfromthelterwillre-enter
thetractioncircuit.
9.Withabidirectionalhydrauliclterinstalledandtheenginerunningathigh
idlespeed,alternatelymovetractionpedalfromforwardtoreverse.Continue
thisprocessforanadditionalve(5)minuteswhilemonitoringlterindicator.
10.ShuttheengineOFFandremovethekeyfromignitionswitch.
11.Removehydrauliclterfromthemachineandinstalldisconnectedhydraulic
hose/tube.
12.Lowermachinetoground.
13.Checkthehydraulicuidlevelinthetankandadjustasnecessary;referto
thetractionunitOperator’sManual.
14.Operatethemachineandcheckforleaksbeforereturningthemachineto
service.
PrimingtheHydraulicPumps
Wheneverhydraulicuidhasbeendrainedfromthepumps(systemdrain,ush,
orpumpremoval/installation)itisimportanttoproperlyprimethehydraulic
pumps.Primingthehydraulicpumpsensuresthatthegearpumpsandpiston
(traction)pumphavesufcientuidwhilechargingthehydraulicsystem.
