IMPORTANT
Ifthetractionpumpwasrebuiltorreplaced,makesurethetraction
pumphousingisatleasthalffullofcleanhydraulicuidafter
installation.
1.Makesureallhydraulicconnectionsandlinesaresecuredtightly.
2.Checkthehydraulic-uidlevelinthehydraulictankandaddcorrecttypeand
quantityofuidifnecessary;refertothetractionunitOperator’sManual.
3.Checkcontrollinkageforproperadjustment,bindingorbrokenparts.
4.Disconnectbothsparkplugwiresfromthesparkplugstopreventtheengine
fromstarting.
5.Makesurefunctioncontrolleverisinneutral,thenturnignitionkeytoengage
thestarterforten(10)secondstoprimepumps.Returnignitionswitchto
OFFandwaitone(1)minutetoallowstartertocool.Engagethestarter
forten(10)secondsasecondtime.
6.Chargethehydraulicsystem;refertoChargingtheHydraulicSystem(page
4–79).
ChargingtheHydraulicSystem
Wheninitiallystartingthehydraulicsystemwithneworrebuiltcomponentssuch
aswheelmotors,gearpump,orliftcylinder,itisimportantthatthehydraulic
systemischargedproperlytoremoveairfromthesystem,itscomponents,and
reducethechanceofdamage.
IMPORTANT
Flushthehydraulicsystemwheneverthereisaseverecomponent
failureorthesystemiscontaminated;refertoFlushingtheHydraulic
System(page4–74)
1.ParkthemachineonalevelsurfaceandturntheengineOFF .
2.Ensurethatallofthehydraulicconnections,lines,andcomponentsare
securedtightly.
3.Ensurethatthehydraulictankisfull.Addthecorrectquantityandtypeof
hydraulicuidifnecessary;refertothetractionunitOperator’sManual.
4.Checkthetractioncontrolcomponentsforproperadjustment,binding,or
damagedparts.
5.Primethehydraulicpumps;refertoPrimingtheHydraulicPumps(page
4–78).
