DisassemblingtheGearPump
Disassemblegearpumpforcleaning,inspectionandsealreplacementonly.
Individualgears,housingsandthrustplatesarenotavailableseparately.If
internalcomponentsarewornordamaged,thegearpumpmustbereplacedas
acompleteassembly.
1.Plugpumpportsandthoroughlycleanexteriorofpumpwithcleaningsolvent.
Makesureworkareaisclean.

IMPORTANT
Avoiddistortinganypumpcomponentswhenclampinggearpump
inavise.Useavisewithsoftjaws.
3.Securethefrontcoverofthepumpinavisewiththedriveshaftpointingdown.
4.Loosenthefour(4)socketheadscrewsthatsecurepumpassembly.
5.Removepumpfromviseandremovefasteners.
6.Supportthepumpassemblyandgentlytapthepumphousingwithasoft
facehammertoloosenthepumpsections.Becarefultonotdroppartsor
disengagegearmesh.
IMPORTANT
Keepgearsandthrustplatesforeachpumpsectiontogether;donot
mixpartsbetweenpumpsections.Marktherelativepositionsof
thegearteethtothethrustplatessotheycanbeassembledinthe
sameposition.Beforeremovingeachgearset,applymarkingdyeto
matingteethtoretain”timing”.Pumpefciencymaybeaffectedif
theteetharenotinstalledinthesamepositionduringassembly.Do
nottouchthegearsurfacesasresidueonhandsmaybecorrosive
togearnish.
7.Removethethrustplates,sealsandgearsfromeachpumpsection.Keep
thepartsforeachpumpsectiontogether;donotmixpartsbetweensections.
