RemovingandInstallingtheHydraulicSystemComponents(page4–71).
3.Removethegearpump;refertoRemovingtheGearPump(page4–82).
4.Disconnectthetractioncontrolcableballjoint(item4inFigure56)fromthe
neutralarm.Loosenthecableadjustingjamnutsandpositionthetraction
cableawayfromthepumpassembly.
5.Disconnectthehydraulichosesfromthetractionpump.Allowhosesto
drainintoasuitablecontainer.Plughosesandcapttingstoprevent
contamination.
6.Removethetwo(2)hexnuts(item24inFigure56),theatwashersandthe
capscrewssecuringthepumphubtotherubberdrivecoupler.
7.Supportthepumpassemblyandremovethetwo(2)capscrewsandthe
hardenedwasherssecuringthetractionpumptotheadapterplate.Remove
thetractionpumpfromthemachine.
8.Ifnecessary,markthehydraulicttinglocationandorientationtoallowfor
correctassemblyandremovethehydraulicttingsfromthetractionpump.
RemoveanddiscardallO-ringsfromthehydraulicttings.
Note:Recordtheposition(depth)ofthepumphubonthepumpshaftprior
toremovingthepumphub.
9.Ifnecessary,removethepumphubfromthepumpinputshaft.Locateand
retrievethesquarekey.
10.Ifnecessary,removethetractioncablesupportandbracketfromthetraction
pump.
InstallingtheTractionPump
Note:Inspectthreadsandsealingsurfacesofhydraulicttingsandhydraulic
hoseortubeconnectorspriortoinstallation.Replaceanydamagedorworn
ttings,hosesortubes.
1.LubricateandtnewO-ringsontogearpumphydraulicttings.Installttings
intopumpopeningsmakingsurethatttinglocationandorientationisas
notedduringremoval.Tightenttingsasspecied;refertoInstallingthe
HydraulicFittings(SAEStraightThreadO-RingFittings)(page4–10).
2.Installthetractioncablesupportandbracketifpreviouslyremoved.
3.Ifremoved,securethepumphubtothepumpshaft:
A.Makesurethatthepumpshaftandtheboreofhubarethoroughly
cleaned.
B.Positionthesquarekeytothepumpshaft.
C.Applymediumstrengththreadlockertothethreadsofthesetscrews
usedtosecurethehubtopumpshaft.
D.Applyanti-seizelubricanttotheboreofthepumphub.
E.Installthepumphubtothepositiononthepumpshaftrecordedduring
disassembly.
F.Tightenthepumphubsetscrewsfrom10to12N∙m(90to110in-lb).
4.Positionthepumpassemblytotheadapterplateandalignpumphubwith
therubbercoupler.Securethepumpassemblytotheadapterplatewithtwo
(2)capscrewsandhardenedwashers.
