AssemblingtheReelMotor
1.LubricatetheO–rings,thepressureseals,theback−upgasketsandthe
wearplategrooveswithathincoatofpetroleumjelly.Lubricatealltheother
internalpartsfreelywithcleanhydraulicuid.
2.Installthenewsealsintothefrontange;refertoFigure71.
A.Pressanewshaftsealintothefrontangeuntilitreachesthebottom
ofthebore.
B.Installthebackupwasherintothefrontangeandtheninstallthe
retainingringintothegrooveofthefrontange.Makesuretheretaining
ringisfullyseatedinthefrontangegroove.
C.Installanewdustsealintothefrontange.
3.Placethefrontange,sealsidedown,onaatsurface.
4.Installtheouterpressureseal,atsideoutward,intothegroovesintheouter
wearplate.Followbycarefullyplacingtheouterbackupgasket,atside
outward,betweenthepressuresealandthegroovesintheouterwearplate.
5.Applyalightcoatingofpetroleumjellytotheexposedsideofthefrontange.
6.Lubricatethedrivegearshaftwithcleanhydraulicuid.Insertthedriveend
ofthedriveshaftthroughtheouterwearplatewiththepressuresealside
downandtheopensideofthepressuresealpointingtotheinletsideofthe
motor.Carefullyinstalltheshaftintothefrontange.
7.Lubricatetheidlergearshaftwithcleanhydraulicuid.Installtheidlergear
shaftintotheremainingpositionintheouterwearplatewiththegearteeth
inthematedpositionrecordedduringdisassembly.Applyalightcoatingof
cleanhydraulicuidtothegearfaces.
8.Installtheinnerpressureseal,atsideoutward,intothegroovesintheinner
wearplate.Followbycarefullyplacingtheinnerbackupgasket,atside
outward,betweenthepressuresealandthegroovesintheinnerwearplate.
9.Installtheinnerwearplatewiththepressuresealsideupandtheopenside
ofthepressuresealpointingtotheinletsideofthemotor.
10.ApplyalightcoatingofpetroleumjellytoanewO–ringandtheO–ring
groovesinthebody.InstallthenewO–ringtothebody.
Note:Whenassemblingthemotor,checkthemarkerlineoneachpartto
makesurethepartsareproperlyalignedduringassembly.
11.Installthelocatingdowelsinthebody.Alignthemarkerlineonthebody
andthefrontange.
IMPORTANT
Donotdislodgethesealsduringinstallation.
12.Gentlyslidethebodyontotheassembly.Firmhandpressureshouldbe
sufcienttoengagethedowels.
13.Checktomakesurethatthesurfaceofthebodycontactsthefrontange.
Ifthebodydoesnotcontactthefrontange,checkassemblyforashifted
pressureseal,backupgasketorO–ring.Correctbeforeproceeding.
14.Installthefour(4)capscrewswiththewashersandhandtightenthescrews.
IMPORTANT
Preventdamagewhenclampingthemotorintoavise;useavise
withsoftjawsandclamponthefrontangeonly.
