RemovingtheRearLiftCylinder
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface.Lowerthecuttingunits,stoptheengine,
engagetheparkingbrakeandremovethekeyfromtheignitionswitch.
2.ReadandadheretotheinformationprovidedinGeneralPrecautionsfor
RemovingandInstallingtheHydraulicSystemComponents(page4–71).
3.Labelallhydraulicconnectionsforproperassembly.
CAUTION
Beforeopeningthehydraulicsystem,relievethehydraulicsystem
pressuretoavoidinjuryfrompressurizedhydraulicuid;referto
RelievingPressurefromtheHydraulicSystem(page4–4).
4.Disconnectthehydraulichoseassembliesfromthehydraulicttings.Allow
thehosestodrainintoasuitablecontainer.Capandplugthehydraulichoses
andttingstopreventsystemcontaminations.
5.Supporttheliftcylindertopreventitfromdropping.
A.Removethecapscrew,theatwasherandthelocknutfromthepivot
pin(item12inFigure75).Pullthepivotpinfromtheframeandthelift
cylinder.
B.Removethecotterpinfromclevispin(item6inFigure75).Slidethe
clevispinfromtheliftcylinderandtheliftarm.
C.Separatethehydrauliccylinderfromtheframeandtheliftarm.Remove
thecylinderfromthemachine.
6.Ifhydraulicttingsaretoberemovedfromthecylinder,markthetting
locationandorientationtoallowforcorrectassembly.Removethettings
anddiscardtheO−rings.
InstallingtheRearLiftCylinder
Note:Inspectthethreadsandthesealingsurfacesofthehydraulicttings
andthehydraulichosespriortoinstallation.Replaceanydamagedorworn
ttingsorhoses.
1.LubricateandtnewO-ringsontothecylinderttings.Installthettings
makingsurethatthettinglocationandorientationisasnotedduring
removal.Tightenttingsasspecied;refertoInstallingtheHydraulicFittings
(SAEStraightThreadO-RingFittings)(page4–10).
2.Positiontheliftcylindertothemachine.
3.Insertthepivotpin(item12inFigure75)throughtheframebracketsandthe
liftcylinder.Securethepintotheframewiththecapscrew,theatwasher
andthelocknut.
4.Positiontheclevisoftheliftcylindertotheliftarm.Securetheliftcylinder
clevistotheliftarmwiththeclevispin(item6inFigure75)andthecotterpin.
5.Removetheplugsandthecapsfromthehydraulichosesandttings.Using
thelabelsplacedduringremoval,connectthehydraulichosestothecylinder
ttings.Tightentheconnectionsasspecied;refertoInstallingHydraulic
HosesandTubes(O-RingFaceSeal)(page4–8).
6.Chargethehydraulicsystem;refertoChargingtheHydraulicSystem(page
4–79).
