CheckingtheInterlockSystemOperation
CAUTION
Theinterlocksystemisfortheoperator’sprotection;donot
disconnectanyoftheinterlocksystemcomponents.Checkthe
operationoftheinterlocksystemdailytoassurethesystemis
operatingcorrectly.Ifaninterlocksystemcomponentisoutof
adjustmentordefective,replaceitbeforeoperatingthemachine.
Thepurposeoftheinterlocksystemisto:
•Preventtheenginefromcrankingorstartingunlessthefunctioncontrollever
isinNEUTRAL.
•Preventoperatingthetractionpedalwiththefunctioncontrolleverin
NEUTRAL.
•ShutoffthereelsifthefunctioncontrolleverismovedtoNEUTRALor
TRANSPORT.
Totesttheinterlocksystem:
1.Sitontheseat,engagetheparkingbrakeandmovethefunctioncontrol
levertoNEUTRAL.Trytodepressthetractionpedal.Ifthepedaldoesnot
depress,theinterlocksystemisoperatingcorrectly.
2.Sitontheseat,engagetheparkingbrake,keepthetractionpedalinneutral
andplacethefunctioncontrolleverinMOWorTRANSPORT.Trytostart
theengine.Iftheenginedoesnotcrank,theinterlocksystemisoperating
correctly.
3.Sitontheseatandstarttheengine.MovethefunctioncontrollevertoMOW.
Raiseofftheseat.Iftheenginestops,theinterlocksystemisoperating
correctly.
4.Sitontheseatandstarttheengine.Movethefunctioncontrolleverto
TRANSPORT.Raiseofftheseat.Iftheenginestops,theinterlocksystem
isoperatingcorrectly.
5.Sitontheseat,engagetheparkingbrake,keepthetractionpedalinneutral
andplacethefunctioncontrolleverinNEUTRAL.Starttheengine.Movethe
Raise/Lower-MowControlLeverforwardtolowerthecuttingunits.Ifthe
cuttingunitsdonotstartrotating,theinterlocksystemisoperatingcorrectly.
6.Sitontheseatandsettheparkingbrake.Starttheengineandmovethe
functioncontrollevertoMOW.Iftheenginestops,theinterlocksystemis
operatingcorrectly.
IMPORTANT
Adjustorrepairanyoftheinterlocksystemcomponentsas
necessarysoalloftheinterlocksystemoperationsfunction
correctly.
