Theneutralandmowswitchesareattachedtothefunctioncontrolleverbracket
undertheconsolecover;refertoFigure88.Theactuatorisattachedtothe
functioncontrollever.Theswitchesareusedtodeterminewhenthefunction
controlleverisintheNEUTRALorMOWposition.Theswitchesareidentical
normallyopenproximityswitchesthatclosewhentheactuatorcomesinclose
proximitytotheswitch.IfthefunctioncontrolleverismovedoutofNEUTRAL(the
neutralswitchopens)whentheparkingbrakeisengagedortheoperatorisnot
intheseat,theenginemagnetowilldiverttheignitioncircuittogroundandthe
enginewillstop.Bothoftheswitchesandtheactuatorareadjustable.
TestingtheNeutralandMowSwitches
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurfaceandlowerthecuttingunits.Makesure
theengineisoffandthekeyswitchisintheOFFposition.
2.Removetheconsolefromtherightsideoftheoperatorseat.
3.Disconnectthewireharnessfromtheswitch.Checkthecontinuityofthe
switchbyconnectingamultimeter(ohmssetting)acrosstheswitchterminals.
A.PlacethefunctioncontrolleverintheNEUTRALposition.Theneutral
switchshouldbeclosed(continuitybetweentheswitchterminals)andthe
mowswitchshouldbeopen(nocontinuitybetweentheswitchterminals).
B.PlacethefunctioncontrolleverintheMOWposition.Themowswitch
shouldbeclosed(continuitybetweentheswitchterminals)andtheneutral
switchshouldbeopen(nocontinuitybetweentheswitchterminals).
