Thedelaytimerislocatedontheleftsideofthemachineundertheoperator
seat;refertoFigure93.Thedelaytimerisasolidstatetimerusedtoenergize
thelowerrelay(K5)longenoughtomakesurethatthecuttingunitswillfully
lower.WhenthejoystickismovedtotheLOWERposition,thejoysticklower
switchsuppliespowertothedelaytimer.Thetimerenergizeslowerrelay(K5).
HydraulicmanifoldsolenoidvalvesS2andS4areenergizedcausingthecutting
unitliftcylinderstoretractandlowerthecuttingunits.Aftersix(6)seconds
thedelaytimerde-energizestherelay.
TestingtheDelayTimer
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurfaceandlowerthecuttingunits.Makesure
theengineisoffandthekeyswitchisintheOFFposition.
2.Raiseseattoallowaccesstolowercuttingunitdelaytimer.
3.Recordthewireharnessconnectionsatthedelaytimerforproperassembly
anddisconnecttheharnessfromthetimer.
4.Connectamultimeter(DCVsetting)tothedelaytimerterminals1and
3;refertoFigure93.Groundterminal3andapply+12VDCtoterminal
2.Themultimetershoulddisplay12VDCfor6seconds.After6seconds
thereshouldbenovoltagedisplayedonthemultimeteraslongas+12VDC
remainsconnectedtoterminal2.Removingthe+12VDCconnectionfrom
terminal2resetsthedelaytimer.
5.Replacethetimerifnecessary.
6.Ifthetimertestscorrectlyandacircuitproblemstillexists,checkthewire
harnesses;refertoAppendixA(pageA–1).
7.Connectthewireharnesstothetimerbeforereturningthemachinetoservice.
