1.EnsurethatthekeyswitchandallaccessoriesareintheOFFposition.
2.Ensurethatthebatterytrayiscleanandplacethebatterytrayinposition.
3.Ensurethatallthebatteryterminals,batterycablesandbatteryholddown
componentsareingoodcondition.
4.Placethebatteryintothebatterytray.Makesurethebatteryisleveland
at.Connectthepositive(+)cableconnectorontothepositive(+)battery
terminal.Use2wrenchestoattachthecableboltandlocknut.
5.Installandsecurebatteryholddownrodwithtwo(2)wingnuts.Donot
overtightentopreventcrackingordistortingthebatterycase.
6.Connectadigitalmultimeter(settoA)betweenthenegative(-)batterypost
andthenegative(-)cableconnector.Ensurethatthereadingislessthan
0.1A.Areadingofmorethan0.1Ausuallyindicatesadamagedswitch,a
shortedcircuit,orgroundedwire.Identifyandrepairtheelectricalfaults
beforereturningthemachinetoservice.
7.Connectthenegative(-)cableconnectortothenegative(-)batteryterminal.
Usethe2wrenchestoattachthecableboltandlocknut.
8.Afteryoumaketheconnections,applybatteryterminalprotectorT oroPart
No.107-0392oralightlayerofgreasetothebatteryterminalsandcable
connectorstoreducecorrosion;refertoSpecialTools(page5–3).
