RemovingtheCasterFork
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,engagetheparkingbrake,lowerthe
cuttingunitsandstoptheengine.Removethekeyfromtheignitionswitch.
2.Removetherearwheel;refertoRemovingtheRearWheel(page6–7).
3.Removethefueltank;refertoRemovingtheFuelT ank(page3–5).
4.Removethetwojamnutsandtheatwasherfromthesteeringcylinder
rodendatthecasterfork.Useasuitabletool(picklefork)toseparatethe
rodendfromthecasterfork.
CAUTION
Supportcasterforkwhileremovingtheslottedhexnuttopreventthe
forkfromdroppingandcausingpersonalinjury.
5.Removethecotterpin,slottedhexnutandwashersfromthecasterfork
stemandlowercasterforkfromframe.
6.Removethebearingconesandwashersfromthecasterforkandframe.
7.Inspecttheupperandlowerbearingcupsintheframeforwearordamage
andreplacethemifnecessary.
