suspensionwiththeenginerunning.Alwaysstoptheengineand
removethekeybeforeworkingonornearacuttingunit.
Thedualpointadjust(DPA)bedknife-to-reeladjustmentsystemincorporatedin
thiscuttingunitsimpliestheadjustmentprocedureneededtodeliveroptimum
mowingperformance.Thepreciseadjustmentpossiblewiththisdesigngives
thenecessarycontroltoprovideacontinualself-sharpeningaction.Thisfeature
maintainssharpcuttingedges,assuresgoodqualityofcutandgreatlyreduces
theneedforroutinebacklapping.Inaddition,therearrollerpositioningsystem
allowsforvariousheight-of-cutrangesandaggressivenessofcutselections.
Ifacuttingunitisdeterminedtobeoutofadjustment,completethefollowing
proceduresinthespeciedordertoadjustthecuttingunitproperly.
1.Adjustthebedknifetoreelcontact;refertotheCuttingUnitOperator’s
Manual.
Note:Ifoneofthecuttingunitsideplatesisremovedduringcuttingunit
serviceormaintenance,checktomakesuretherearrollerislevel(parallel
tothereel)beforeadjustingtherearroller;refertoLevelingtheRearRoller
(page7–12).
