4.Removethetwocapscrewsandnutsthatsecurecounterweighttotheleft
sideplate,andremovethecounterweightfromthecuttingunit.Remove
anddiscardtheO-ring.
5.Removethebedbar;refertoRemovingtheBedbar(page7–15).
6.Removethefrontroller;refertoRemovingtheFrontRoller(page7–28).
7.Removetherearroller;refertoRemovingtheRearRoller(page7–29).
CAUTION
Contactwiththereel,bedknifeorothercuttingunitpartscanresult
inpersonalinjury.Useheavygloveswhenremovingthecuttingreel.
Note:Ifthereelbearingsorsealsarebeingreplaced,thereelnutsmustbe
removed.Useablockofwoodbetweenthecuttingreelbladestopreventthe
reelfromrotatingandloosenthereelnutsbeforeremovingthereelfromthe
cuttingunit.Thereelnutontheleftendofthecuttingreelhasablacknish
andhasleft-handthreads.Theleftendofthecuttingreelshaftisidentied
withagroovecutjustinsideoftheleft-mostreelspider.Thereelnutonthe
rightendofthecuttingreelhasasilvernishandhasright-handthreads.
8.Supportthecuttingreeltopreventitfromshiftingorfallingandremovethe
twoshoulderboltsandtwoangenutsthatsecurethesideplatetothe
cuttingunitframe.Removethesideplatefromthecuttingunit.
9.Carefullyslidethecuttingreelassembly(withseals,bearingsandreel
nuts)fromtheoppositesideplate.Retrievetheatwirespringfromthereel
bearingboreoftheleftsideplate.
10.Thoroughlycleananygreaseandcorrosionfromthereelbearingboresin
thesideplates.
11.Inspecttheremainingcuttingunitcomponentsforcorrosion,wear,ordamage
andreplacethecomponentsasnecessary.
