2.Cleanandinspectallcomponentsforwearordamageandreplaceas
necessary.
3.Installtheshimanddriveshaftwithdriveadapter(machineswithouta
universalgroomer)withamediumstrengththreadlocker(Loctite242or
equivalent)andtightenfrom136to150N∙m(100to110ft-lb).Installthe
weight.
Note:Thescrewusedtosecuretheadapterhousinghasalockingfeature
topreventthescrewfromloosening.Iftheoriginalscrewisbeingre-used,
applyamediumstrengththreadlocker(Loctite#242orequivalent).
4.InstallandapplyalightcoatingofgreasetoanewO-ringandinstallthe
adapterhousing(machineswithoutauniversalgroomer).
5.InstallthedrivehousingandLHbearingbracket.
6.ApplyathincoatingofgreasetotheO-ringsonthebrushshaftandttheRH
bearingbracketoverthebrushshaft.
Note:Installallockedsealswiththeockedsurfaceagainstthebearing.
7.Installaockedsealandtheretainingringontothebrushshaft.
8.InstallthebrushandRHbearingbracketassembly.
9.Installthedrivepulley.

Thebrushdrivebeltmayfailprematurelyifthepulleysarenot
properlyaligned.
10.Usingastraightedge,determinethenumberofspacersnecessaryunderthe
drivenpulleytoalignthepulleys.Tightenthelocknutsecuringthedriven
pulleyfrom20to26N∙m(15to19ft-lb).
11.Installandadjustthedrivebeltandinstallthecover.
