loosening.Ifausedlocknutisbeinginstalled,applyamediumstrength
threadlocker(Loctite#242orequivalent)tothethreadsofthelocknut.
A.Installalocknutononeendofthegroomerreelshaft.
B.Installasingle12mm(0.46inch)spaceragainstthelocknut.Then,
placetherstbladeagainstthespacerinstalled.
Note:Forstandard13mm(1/2inch)spacing,ttwo5.6mm(0.22inch)
spacersbetweeneachblade.
C.Installtheremainingspacersandbladesinanalternatingmannermaking
surethatallbladesareseparatedbyoneormorespacers.
D.Whenallthebladeshavebeeninstalled,installthesecondlocknutonto
theshaft.Centerthebladesandspacersontheshaftbyadjustingthe
locknuts.
E.Usetheatsprovidedonthegroomerreelshafttopreventtheshaftfrom
rotatingandtightenthesecondlocknutto42to48N∙m(31to35ft-lb).
Aftertighteningthelocknut,spacersshouldnotbefreetorotateandthe
groomerbladesshouldbecenteredontheshaft.
7.Installthegroomerreelbackontothecuttingunit;refertoInstallingthe
GroomerReel(page8–17).
InstallingtheGroomerReel
1.Makesurethatallsupportplatebearings,bushingsandsealsareingood
conditionandproperlyinstalled.
2.InstallanewO-ringonthesupportplateendofthegroomerreelshaft.
3.ApplyalightcoatofgreasetotheO-ring,thesupportplateendofthe
groomerreelshaftandtotheseallipinthesupportplate.
4.Carefullytthegroomerreelintothesupportplate.
5.Installthegroomerdriveplate;refertoInstallingtheDrivePlate(page8–14)
