Thegroomergearboxassemblyislocatedontheoppositesideofthecutting
unitfromthecuttingunithydraulicmotor.
RemovingtheGearBoxAssembly
1.Parkthemachineonacleanandlevelsurface,lowerthecuttingunits
completelytotheground,settheparkingbrake,andremovethekeyfromthe
keyswitch.
2.Removethegroomerreelassembly;refertoRemovingtheGroomerReel
(page9–13).
3.Removethedriveshield,or,ifthecuttingunitisequippedwithanoptional
poweredrearrollerbrush,removetherearrollerbrushdriveassemblyto
servicethegroomerdrive;refertoServicingtheRearRollerBrush(withor
withoutabeltdrivengroomer)(page7–35).
4.Safelypreventthereelfromrotatingbyblockingthecuttingreelwithapiece
ofwoodnearoneofthereelspiders.
IMPORTANT
Allofthegroomergearboxesforthismachineareinstalledonthe
leftsideofthecuttingunit.Groomergearboxesinstalledontheleft
sideofthecuttingunitusealefthandthread.Turntheinputshaft
(rearrollerbrushdriveshaft)clockwisetoremovethegearbox.
5.Removethegearboxfromthecuttingunitasfollows:
A.Turntheinputshaftclockwisetoloosenitfromthereel.
