RemovingtheEngine
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthecuttingunits,shutoffthe
engine,settheparkingbrake,andremovethekeyfromthekeyswitch.
2.Closefuelshut-offvalvebelowfueltank.
3.Disconnectthenegative(–)batterycableatthebattery.
4.Removethefuelhoseandclamp(item2inFigure8)anddisconnectthefuel
hoseatthefuelpump.Drainanyfueltrappedinthefuellterandhoseinto
asuitablecontainer.
5.Disconnectthefuelevaporativesystemhoses(items13and14inFigure8)
fromtheengine
6.Disconnecttheelectricalsystemwiringfromtheengine:
Theenginewireharnessconnectoratthemainwireharness
Thebatteryground(-)cableneartheoillter
Thebatterypositive(+)cableatthestarter
7.Disconnectthechokeandthrottlecablesfromtheengine.
8.Removethetwo(2)capscrews(item15inFigure8),theatwashersand
thelocknutssecuringthepumphubtothedrivecoupler.
9.Supportthepumpassemblyandremovethetwo(2)capscrewsandthe
hardenedwasherssecuringthepumpassemblytotheadapterplate.It
shouldnotbenecessarytodisconnectthehydraulichosesortractioncable
fromthepumpassembly.
CAUTION
Theengineassemblyweighsapproximately45kg(100lb).Usean
appropriatelifttosupporttheengineassembly.
10.Supporttheengineassemblyandremovethethree(3)enginemountange
nuts,thecapscrewsandtheatwashers.Locateandretrievethetwo(2)
spacersusedonthelowerenginemounts.
11.Carefullymovetheengineawayfromthepumpassemblyuntilthepump
hubclearstheadapterplate.Locateandretrievethetwo(2)spacersin
thedrivecoupler.
12.Continuetodisassembletheengineasnecessary.
