Thefunctioncontrolswitchislocatedontheoperatorconsole.Thefunction
controlswitchallowstheoperatortoselectbetweenNEUTRAL(alsousedfor
backlapping),MOW(lowspeedrange),andTRANSPORT(highspeedrange).The
functioncontrolswitchispartofthesafetyinterlocksystem;refertoChecking
theInterlockSystemOperation(page5–19)forabetterunderstandingofhow
theswitchisused.
TestingtheFunctionControlSwitch
Thefunctioncontrolswitchanditscircuitwiringcanbetestedusingthemain
informationscreenoftheInfoCenterDisplay;refertoInfoCenter(page5–10).If
testingdeterminesthattheswitchandcircuitwiringarenotfunctioningcorrectly,
proceedwiththefollowingtestprocedure:
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthecuttingunits,setthekey
switchtotheOFFpositionandremovethekeyfromthekeyswitch.
2.Disconnectthebatterynegative(-)cableatthe12Vsystembattery(model
04580);refertoRemovingandInstallingthe12VSystemBattery(Model
04580)(page5–105),orunplugthe48Vbatterydisconnect(model04590);
referto48VBatteryDisconnect(page5–9).
3.Removetheconsolecover.
4.Disconnectthewireharnessconnectorfromtheswitch.Checktheswitch
andtheharnessconnectorfordamageorcorrosionandcleanorrepairas
necessary.Removetheswitchfromtheconsoleifnecessary.
5.Useamultimeter(ohmssetting)andtheprecedingtabletodetermine
whethercontinuityexistsbetweenthevariousterminalsforeachswitch
position.
6.Replacetheswitchifnecessary.
7.Iftheswitchtestscorrectlyandacircuitproblemstillexists,checkthemain
wireharness;refertoAppendixA(pageA–1).
8.Installtheswitchwiththeatportionoftherockertowardtherearofthe
machine.Connectthewireharnessandinstalltheconsolecoveraftertesting.
9.Connectthebatterynegative(-)cableatthe12Vsystembattery(model
04580),orconnectthe48Vbatterydisconnect(model04590).Testthe
switchfunctionalitybeforereturningthemachinetoservice.
