accordingtoambienttemperature.Figure29illustratesthe
temperature/viscosityrecommendations.

willincreaseoilconsumption.Checktheoillevelmore
frequentlywhenusingthem.

ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily
Note:Thebesttimetochecktheengineoiliswhenthe
engineiscool,beforeithasbeenstartedfortheday.Ifithas
alreadybeenrun,allowtheoiltodrainbackdowntothe
sumpforatleast10minutesbeforechecking.Iftheoillevel
isatorbelowtheLmarkonthedipstick,addoiltobringthe
oilleveltotheHmark.Donotoverll.Iftheoillevelis
betweentheHandLmarks,nooiladditionisrequired.
1.Removethetransportwheels(ifinstalled).
2.Positionthemowersotheengineislevelandclean
aroundtheoillevelgauge(Figure30).

4.Wipetheoillevelgaugecleanandinsertitintothe
llerport.Donotscrewthegaugeintotheport.Then

addonlyenoughoiltoraisetheleveluntilitisbetween
theHandLmarksonthegauge(Figure30).Check
theleveloftheoil.Donotoverll.

1.Startandruntheengineforafewminutestowarm
theengineoil.
2.Attherearofthemachine,placeadrainpanunderthe
drainplug(Figure30).Loosenthedrainplug.
3.Pushdownonthehandletotipthemowerandengine
backward,allowingalltheoiltorunintothedrainpan.
4.Installthedrainplugandrellthecrankcasewiththe
speciedoil;refertoCheckingtheEngineOilLevel
(page17).
5.Wipeupanyspilledoil.
