1.Cleantheareaaroundtheltermountingarea
(Figure52).Placeadrainpanunderthelter
andremovethelter.
Note:Iftheoilisnotgoingtobedrained,
disconnectandplugthehydrauliclinegoingto
thelter.

2.Fillthereplacementlterwiththeappropriate
hydraulicuid,lubricatethesealinggasket,and
handturnituntilthegasketcontactsthelter
head.Thentighten3/4turnfurther.Thelter
shouldnowbesealed.
3.Fillthehydraulicreservoirwithhydraulicoil;refer
toCheckingtheHydraulicFluidLevel(page25).
4.Startthemachineandrunitatidlefor3to5
minutestocirculatetheuidandremoveanyair
trappedinthesystem.
5.Stopthemachine,rechecktheuidleveland
replenishasrequired.
6.Disposeoftheoilandlterproperly.

Hydraulicuidescapingunderpressurecan
penetrateskinandcauseinjury.
•Makesureallhydraulicuidhosesand
linesareingoodconditionandallhydraulic
connectionsandttingsaretightbefore
applyingpressuretothehydraulicsystem.
•Keepyourbodyandhandsawayfrom
pinholeleaksornozzlesthatejecthigh
pressurehydraulicuid.
•Usecardboardorpapertondhydraulic
leaks.
•Safelyrelieveallpressureinthehydraulic
systembeforeperforminganyworkonthe
hydraulicsystem.
•Getimmediatemedicalhelpifuidis
injectedintoskin.
Checkthehydrauliclinesandhosesdailyfor
leaks,kinkedlines,loosemountingsupports,wear,
loosettings,weatherdeterioration,andchemical
deterioration.Makeallnecessaryrepairsbefore
operating.
