7.Carefullyremovethewoodblockholdingthepush
armdown.
8.Lineuptheholesintheyokeandinputshaftofthe
gearbox.Slidetheyokeontotheshaftandsecure
themtogetherwitharollpin,2capscrews(5/16x
1-3/4inches),and2locknuts(5/16inches).
ReplacingtheDriveBelt
Thebladedrivebelt,tensionedbythespringloaded
idlerpulley,isverydurable.However,aftermanyhours
ofuse,thebeltwillshowsignsofwear.Signsofaworn
beltare:squealingwhenbeltisrotating,bladesslipping
whencuttinggrass,frayededges,burnmarksandcracks.
Replacethebeltifanyoftheseconditionsareevident.
1.Lowerthecuttingunittotheshopoor.Remove
thebeltcoversfromthetopofthecuttingunitand
setthecoversaside.
2.Unhookthespringfromtheidlerarmbracketto
releasethebelttension(
Figure22).Removethe
cotterpinandclevispinsecuringtheidlerarm
brackettotheidlerarm.

length,relocatethespringrodtoanewmounting
holefurtherawayfromthebelt.
