IMPORTANT
Whentestingforwireharnesscontinuityattheconnectorforthe
TECcontroller,takecaretonotdamagetheconnectorpinswith
multimetertestleads.Ifconnectorpinsareenlargedordamaged
duringtesting,connectorrepairwillbenecessaryforproper
machineoperation.
ThemachineelectricalschematicandwireharnessdrawingsinChapter9−
FoldoutDrawingscanbeusedtoidentifypossiblecircuitproblemsbetweenthe
controllersandtheinput/outputdevices(e.g.switchesandsolenoidcoils).
BecauseofthesolidstatecircuitrybuiltintotheTECcontrollers,thereisno
methodtotestacontrollerdirectly.Acontrollermaybedamagedifanattemptis
madetotestitwithanelectricaltestdevice(e.g.digitalmultimeterortestlight).
Note:Thetwo(2)TECcontrollersusedontheGroundsmaster4700−Dare
matchedforcorrectmachineoperation.Ifeitherofthesecomponentsare
replacedforanyreason,systemsoftwareneedstobereprogrammedbyyour
ToroDistributor.
IMPORTANT
Beforeperformingweldingonthemachine,disconnectbothpositive
andnegativebatterycablesfromthebattery,disconnectthewire
harnessconnectorfromtheTECcontrollersanddisconnectthe
terminalconnectorfromthealternator.Also,disconnectandremove
theengineECUfromthemachinebeforewelding.Thesestepswill
preventdamagetothemachineelectricalsystemwhenwelding.
